Review of The Doctor's Defender

The Doctor's Defender by Terri Reed

Another great suspense book that I was sad to see end!  I enjoyed the characters in this book.  The lead female character is doctor in need of a 24/7 bodyguard.  The reasons for the protection and the interaction of the two are what make this story so good.  The story itself moves along quickly and the relationship develops in a believable manner.  I enjoyed the conversations between the doctor and her bodyguard.  I also thought the mystery was well played out in the story and ended in a satisfying way.  I gave this book 5/5 stars. I would recommend this book for anyone who likes Christian suspense novels.

Review of A Royal Marriage

Royal Marriage by Rachelle McCalla

I loved the time period of this book.  Its setting is not a usual one but really made this book enjoyable.  I liked the authors writing style.  The story flowed so well and the characters were all likeable.  The story itself was fun and I could not wait to read more and find out what happened on the next page.  I gave this book 5/5 stars.  I loved the unique setting and time period and cannot wait to read more from this author.  I would recommend this book for anyone who likes books about Princesses, historical settings, Christian fiction or for anyone who is looking for a quick read!

Review of Betrayal on the Border

Betrayal on the Border by Jill Elizabeth Nelson
I love when the main character is a strong woman who knows how to handle herself.  This is a great mystery story with a hint of Christianity in it.  I liked how the author kept the main characters true to their character. You believe the actions they take are really ones they have thought about and would take if they were real people!  I liked how the romance developed over the story and thought the story ended well.  I gave this book 5/5 stars.  I would recommend it to anyone who likes a Christian fiction book with mystery and romance. This was a great read!

Review of A Hope Springs Christmas

A Hope Springs Christmas by Patricia Davids

What’s not to like about this book!  There is drama, humor and a bit of romance too!  I am not a big fan of Amish fiction but do occasionally read one.  This book was very good at drawing you into the story and keeping you interested.  I gave this book 5/5 stars.  I liked the characters and thought they were well developed and easy to enjoy!  Sarah was likeable and you could not help but cheer for her.  The main male character was Levi.  He too was enjoyable and you root for him right from the start.  I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Amish fiction, Christian fiction, and short easy to read romances.

Review of Lily's Plight

Lily's Plight by Sally Laity

I have read and reviewed the other two books in this series.  The first book, Rose’s Pledge, was very good and I enjoyed the story.  The second book, Mariah’s Quest, was not so good and I would not read it again.  I was hoping that this third book would get back to the likes of the first book for me.  Well it was not as bad as the second but still not a favorite of mine.  I have this book 4/5 stars.  I though the characters were well portrayed but sometimes their personalities conflicted with what they actually did.  I just could not fall in love with them and that makes it hard to read about their lives!  I would recommend you read the others in the series first but it is not a necessity.  I would recommend this book as a descent Christian Historical Fiction book to read.

Review of Denali Dreams

Denali Dreams by Ronie Kendig

I love a little mystery along with a bit of romance!  The stories in this book are all great and will hold your interest.  I like how the stories are all connected but are each their own.  The characters don’t get a real chance to develop because the stories are just short ones.  That said they are great stories when looking for a quick read.  I gave this book 5/5 stars.  I liked the stories and the characters in all the stories. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian suspense or Christian romance stories.  I highly recommend this book!

Review of Jesus, Pure & Simple

The title exactly describes this book.  It is about Jesus and how we as Christians can be more like Him.  The author teaches you through scripture who Jesus is and how His life can change your life.  It is a simple book and written so anyone can read and understand it.  It was not condescending in any way and is a great recourse for anyone who wants to learn more about Jesus.  I gave this book 4/5 stars.  I liked the book and only had a few spots where I felt it was repeating itself or the idea got lost in the words.  Overall it was a good book and a joy to read!

Review of Real Life, Real Miracles

Real Life, Real Miracles by James L. Garlow

Looking for some inspirational stories?  This book has many that will amaze you and all point you to the Lord of miracles.  I gave this book 5/5 stars. I thought the compilation of stories was varied enough that any one reading this book will find a story that will touch them in some way.  You will be able to relate to some of the stories as well.  You may also realize that you have experienced some of these same miracles just in your own way.  I would recommend this book for anyone looking for encouragement or who enjoys reading about special incidents in others lives.

Review of The Conviction to Lead

The Conviction to Lead by R. Albert Mohler Jr.

This was an excellent book about leaders and how to tell a great one from an average one!  I liked how the chapters were divided into different subject matters.  Each chapter could be read on its own as there was ample information about the topic in each one.

I gave this book 5/5 stars.  I liked the author and thought his explanations of what leadership is and how to find true leaders were excellent.  I cannot say all will agree with everything he says, however I could not find anything negative to say about what he writes.  His style of writing was easy to understand and his examples did pertain to what he was teaching.  I would recommend this book to any who are looking at becoming a leader or anyone who is looking for a leader in their organization or church!
