Review of Stormie Omartian Book

Lead Me, Holy Spirit is written by Stormie Omartian.

The author does excellent at describing who the Holy Spirit is and showing how much he can help you grow in your spiritual life. The subtitle, "Longing To Hear The Voice Of God," states what every Christians desire should be.

I learned from reading this book, which is not something that happens every time you read a book! I liked how organized the chapters were. I enjoyed the personality of the author that you could definitely see with her personal stories.

There are not many books about the Holy Spirit out there that give such a practical look at who the Holy Spirit is. This book is so simple to read and understand. You will learn how he can help you, the ways he gets your attention and even how to respond to him.

I gave this book 5/5 stars. I thought it was informative as well as easy to read. I like this author and would recommend any of her other books as well.

Review of Mormonizing of America

Mormonizing of America is written by Stephen Mansfield.

If you like history or want to learn more about the Mormon faith this book is perfect for you. The subtitle is "How the Mormon Religion Became a Dominant Force in Politics, Entertainment, and Pop Culture."

I found this book to be very informative. The author tells the history of the Mormons. It is interesting to read who the first leader was. I especially liked how he showed the influence of Mormons on our culture.

The book was not condescending or putting down of the Mormon faith. I thought the book was open and really just a history of what the religions stands for and what a Mormon believes.

I gave this book 4/5 stars. I liked the book itself and found it educational. I did wish the author had found more Mormons to contribute to the book. If he had some more personal testimonies of what being a Mormon means to an actual Mormon I think it would have given the book more standing.

Review of Inescapable

Inescapable is written by Nancy Mehl.

This is book one in the series called Road To Kingdom written by author Nancy Mehl. This is a great Christian mystery/romance story.

The main character Lizzie Engel is being followed and decides to head home to hide out. A place she never thought she would return to. Will she be accepted or rejected by her family? Will she and her daughter be safe in her hometown? She meets up with Noah Housler who is an old friend. Will he become more then a friend?

The mystery part of this story is definitely intriguing. The author keeps you guessing as to whom the man following Lizzie might be and even why he is following her. My favorite part was how the author wrote the interaction of the different characters with Lizzie’s daughter Charity.

I gave this book 5/5 stars. I liked the whole story. I enjoyed the characters, especially the main character Lizzie. I think the author has written a great Christian fiction book. If you like mysteries you will enjoy this story just as much as someone who likes a good Christian romance story. This book has it all!

Review of Letter To The Ladies

A Letter to the Ladies is written by Irene Givens-Royal.

The subtitle to this book is "An Inspirational Message Every Woman Should Read." I would add to that that this is a very uplifting book.

I liked this book for its simplicity. I thought the author wrote with love and humility. I really felt like I was reading a group of personal letters written just for me. The subjects written about include chapters on marriage, children and divorce.

Each chapter centers on the subject mentioned in the title. I thought the Biblical references were perfectly placed. They really help get her point across by showing that she was not just stating her opinion about something but was showing what the Lord has said.

In the chapter on marriage I liked how she encouraged loving your husband and supporting him. I have read many books about marriage and felt that she summed up all the important factors of a great marriage in her one chapter!

I gave this book 5/5 stars. I think this would be a great book for any Christian woman to read. I did find the print too small for my taste. I even had to break out the reading glasses but that did not deter me from reading every page!

Review of Relentless Pursuit

Relentless Pursuit is written by Ken Gire.

This is a very easy to read and understand book. Everyone will relate to some part of what the author is presenting.

I found the author of this book to be very open with his personal examples. If you sometimes feel like you are not acceptable to the Lord or that you are very different then other Christians, you will benefit from reading this book. I think we all feel like an outsider at different times in our lives. This book will help you learn to draw closer to the Lord and other Christians when you are feeling this way.

The author doesn’t just use personal examples but also relates his point to people from the Bible. This was my favorite part of the book. I also really liked the discussion questions. I think this book would be perfect for a Sunday School class or Bible Study. Reading this book about feeling like an outsider with others who may feel that way too can’t help but be an encouragement to you.

I gave this book 5/5 stars for a few reasons. I like the author’s examples. I felt he was very accepting and non-judgmental in his writing. I also liked the short chapters!

Love in Disguise Book Review

Love in Disguise is written by Carol Cox

The main character in this book is funny and resourceful. The story itself is interesting and that is why this book goes down as one of my favorites!

The book follows the main characters Ellie Moore and Steven Pierce. Their relationship plays out very well and is a joy to read. I like how Ellie uses her brain and is not just another main character that needs rescuing from her "prince charming."

The story is a mystery as much as it is a romance. There is great humor and interesting conversations to keep you entertained. I enjoyed every page of this story. I read it in one sitting, as I just couldn’t wait to see where the author took the story. I have read other books that try to mix mystery and romance but this one is by far the best. I have this book 5/5 stars because I enjoyed the story and loved the main characters!
