Review of Where Love Grows

This is book three in the Fields of Home Series written by Jerry Eicher.  I would recommend reading the others in the series before reading this one.  You will get a full understanding of the characters and setting that way and not feel like you are coming into the middle of a story.

I gave this book 4/5 stars.  I did not especially enjoy the main character in the story, Susan.  I do not like characters that are very dependent on others and feelings to respond to their circumstances.  I thought she could have been written with more depth.  I liked that the families where forced to face issues that had been hidden in the past.  I would recommend this book for anyone who is a fan of the author or who enjoys Amish fictional stories.

Review of To Whisper Her Name

To Whisper Her Name (Belle Meade Plantation #1)

You cannot go wrong reading any book written by Tamara Alexander.  This book is no exception.  For me the setting was the best part.  I gave this book 5/5 stars.  If you like Christian historical fiction books this is the perfect story for you!  Books written by this author are so full of description and details that you put the story down feeling like you might actually know the people in the book.  The story follows multiple characters and each one is likable if not lovable.  I would recommend this book and actually any book by this author.  I guarantee you will enjoy this book!

Review of The Wisdom Compass

The Wisdom Compass for Christians: Your 31-Day Journey to Wisdom-Filled Living

This is such a simple book but filled with some very thought provoking guidelines to having a Christ focused life.  I gave this book 5/5 stars.  It is meant to be a 31 day journey through the pages of the book.  I found that by spreading it out over a couple days instead of one each devotional had time to sink in.  It also gave me more time to read the many scripture references provided.  I would recommend this book for anyone, whether a new or seasoned Christian.  You will find something to learn from in these pages!

Review of The 13: Fall

Fall, The 13 Series #1

This is a great Christian suspense book.  I enjoyed the setting and different cities the story took place in.  I thought the characters were interesting and kept me cheering for them throughout the book.  The plot itself was exciting and had me entertained the whole time.  I gave this book 5/5 stars.  If you enjoy action, suspense and a Christian themed story, then you will really enjoy this book!  One of the best books I have read in the past year!

Review of Organic Outreach for Families

Organic Outreach for Families: Turning Your Home into a Lighthouse -
        By: Kevin G. Harney

This book has helpful information about ways to expand your families outreach.  The outreach it is talking about is being a family that witnesses for the Lord in all they do.  I gave this book a 4/5 stars.  I did not find as much helpful information in this book as I thought I would. I did think it was more of a do this and this book then just helpful advice.  I felt it was saying if you do not do these things then you are not doing enough for the Lord as a family.  I do however think that if you are looking for some ways your family can make more of a difference in the world this book would be a great read for you.

Review of Montana Dreams

Montana Dreams

This is another great story by Jillian Hart.  I enjoy every book I read that is written by this author.  This particular book may not be on the top of my favorites by her, but it is an entertaining story.  The story itself is what makes me give this book a 4/5 stars.  It just seems like I have read this story before.  The girl hides the birth of a child from the father only to later show up and he figures it out.  The saving grace in this particular story is the characters.  The book kept me entertained and I enjoyed the conversations between the main characters.  I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick Christian romance to read.

Review of Found Fathers Know Best

Founding Fathers Know Best by Ross Edward Puskar

This is a compelling book.  The author makes the choice to bring back former presidents to sit and talk with the current president.  I found parts of the book entertaining and some parts educational.   If you are just looking for a historical novel to sit and enjoy reading you might not want to pick this one.  I gave this book 4/5 stars.  I was hoping for a more relaxing read and instead found myself being taught about our constitution.  It was just an OK book for me but as I always say, that is just my opinion so don’t let it stop you from giving the book a try!

Review of Andrew's Gift

Andrew's Gift: And the Untold Miracles in Bethlehem

You will enjoy this book that is a retelling of the Christmas Story from a different viewpoint.  I gave this book 5/5 stars.  I liked how the writer used description to help you get a better understanding of the time period.  I also enjoyed the interaction of the Biblical characters with the fictional ones.  This author is very creative and it shows in this story.  I would recommend this book to anyone wanting a fiction view of the birth of Jesus or really anyone who is looking for a quick and entertaining book to read!

Review of 40 Days Through Revelation

40 Days Through Revelation: Uncovering the Mystery of the End Times

This is a great study book on the book of Revelation.  The subtitle says Uncovering the Mystery of the End Times.  There is so much information in this book that you will have to take your time reading it.

I gave this a 5/5 stars.  I liked how he went through each verse and gave his interpretation of what the verse was saying.  You may not agree with each explanation he has but you have to give him credit for backing up what he says.  He uses ample references and very simple language to reiterate the point he is trying to make about each verse.  I thought the book was easy to read and packed with information.  This book would be great for a Bible study group to use or even a Sunday School class.
