Review of Ring of Secrets

Ring of Secrets (The Culper Ring Series)

Ring of Secrets is written by Roseanna White.

The setting for this book is the Revolutionary War. There are fascinating characters and intriguing story lines! Winter is a woman on a mission to help the Patriots as they seek their liberty from England. She is helping the cause by passing along pertinent information about the goings on of those in her social circle. Bennet is a man on his own mission until he starts to fall for the out of the ordinary Winter. There are other minor parts to the story but those are the main characters.

I gave this book 5/5 stars. I liked the historical aspect of the story. The author even puts a part at the end to explain some of her research for the story. I did feel like the first few chapters were just there to introduce the characters. That part did not flow well for me, felt too contrived. That said, I loved the story itself and thought the conversations were very well written. The characters had depth and you can’t help but like them. If you like Historical Christian Fiction you will love this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

I would like to thank the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.

Big Mean Mike

Review of Childrens Book Big Mean Mike
I gave this book 4/5 stars. I liked the idea behind the book but felt it missed it’s mark. The story follows a dog who is known for being mean. He eventually befriends a few bunnies. Although you see some change in his personality I don’t think you see enough. You put the book down still not sure that the dog has changed into a nice dog. This book is all right but not one I would read again.

Review of Childrens Book Being Frank

This is one of my favorite books of the year! I gave this book 5/5 stars. The story follows a boy as he learns how important it is to be polite. This book is part of the documenting U.S. History Series. I would recommend this book for the older elementary age group due to the detailed information presented. I gave this book 4/5 stars. My Dog Is a Hero

Review of Childrens Book My Dog Is A Hero, Working Dogs With Amazing Jobs!

This is an A+ book. I highly recommend this book to all children. I gave the book a 5/5 stars. If I could give a higher rating I would. This book shows just how talented and special dogs are. The book divides the jobs that dogs can do into categories. There are Lifesavers, Protectors, Helpers, Detectors and Explorers. The book then shows the different kinds of jobs a dog can do under each category. Under the Lifesavers you will learn about Water Rescue dogs. Under the Protectors you will learn about Combat dogs. Under Helpers you will learn about Guide dogs. Under Detectors you will learn about Drug Detector dogs. In the last category, Explorers, you will learn about how dogs help in exploring different areas. Pretty Penny Makes Ends Meet

Review of Childrens Book Pretty Penny Makes Ends Meet

The colors in the illustrations make this book more enjoyable to read. This story is about a little girl who saves money by making something and selling it. She then gives the money she makes to her Grandma to help pay for something that has broken in the house. I did not want to give too much away about this book so am being pretty vague in the description. There are some good lessons to be learned while reading this story. You will see how working hard does pay off, helping others is worth your time and life does not always go perfectly! I gave this book 5/5 stars. I liked how it showed a child being able to work and help and adult!

Review of Childrens Book Olive and the Big Secret

This is a cute book that teaches about how important it is to keep a secret. Olive is told a secret and struggles with keeping it to herself. I gave this book 5/5 stars. This book takes a look at Times Square in New York City. It shows different times it has changed in appearance and how it changed. I thought it was informative as well as interesting. I gave this book 4/5 stars. I liked the idea of the book but thought it was too detailed to be a child’s book. I found the book to be more informative then entertaining. I would recommend it for older elementary age readers and especially those interested in history.

ROCB: Snowman Magic

Snowman Magic
Review of Childrens Book Snowman Magic
This is a beautifully illustrated book about a little boy who builds a snowman that comes alive. It is magical and any child who loves snowmen will enjoy the story. I also think any child who has to play alone more then with other children will enjoy the story. The story shows that using your imagination can help you when you are unable to find another child to play with. I gave this book 5/5 stars because the illustrations alone make the book worth reading.

Awesome Bible Verses Every Kid Should Know Book Review

Awesome Bible Verses Every Kid Should Know by Rebecca Lutzer
The book starts with a note from the author that stresses the importance of memorizing verses from the Bible. The introduction is followed by sections. These sections have verses to memorize that go along with the title for the section. Some of the titles are God, Friendship, and Giving. The verses are then followed by a note from the author that talks about that section and why these verses are so important to the Christian life. The verses are written out so you do not have to have a Bible alongside the book. I thought that was a great idea and is really what helps make this book so easy to use!

I gave this book 5/5 stars. I thought the book was laid out very well which made it easy to follow and understand. The author’s notes in each section were lighthearted, informative and not preachy in any manner. I would recommend this book for children who are interested in memorizing verses but don’t know where or how to start. It would be a great book to give to any child as a present.

I would like to thank the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.
